We had intended to go to a different restaurant but when we arrived, they were closed so we decided to try Chong Tong. We left being very glad that the other place was closed. The staff there were very friendly. The food was great. And it wasn't loud or noisy so we could actually have a conversation. I also think it was very reasonably priced, especially for the serving size. We finally found a good Thai restaurant in our area.
This is an amazing gem in Delmar! We have high expectations of Thai food and this exceeds all of them and more! My favorite dishes are the yellow curry with chicken and extra veggies, the pho is very good, and my hubby gets the salmon dish. We have eaten in but love doing takeout. I like to call in the orders and I'm so glad to see how much busier they have been lately. I like the spring rolls too, I can't say enough great things
My wife and I had 2 lunch specials. The flavors were on point. Hats off to the chef accompanied by the excellent service from our waitress. Next time I come back I want to try the curry.
This is mostly a take out place, so if you are planning on dining in, the wait could be long during the dinner rush. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The food is very good. What's interesting is that other local Thai restaurants that are more expensive and have a weaker menu seem to get a lot of attention, but they aren't as good as Chontong.
The establishment was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, providing outstanding service throughout our visit. Each meal was expertly prepared, featuring fresh, flavorful, and delicious ingredients. An overall excellent experience!
April 2021 - 'Dined-in' which was lovely... haven't done this much since Covid19 started. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Food was fantastic! Chicken satay appetizer, and two lunch specials (8 each): Green curry chicken, a noodle dish. Server was extremely nice and comfortably attentive. Restaurant decor is minimal and casual. Background music was relaxing and enabled us to talk and enjoy the experience. Hope others will support this restaurant so that we don't lose this Thai gem in Delmar!
